The Club

Stokesley Probus Club meets in Stokesley Town Hall every month except December when we go out for Christmas Lunch.

The Club was formed back in 1986 for people who want to maintain a social network with others with similar interests. Our Club is run with minimum formality and our current members come from a wide range of professional and business backgrounds.

The main objectives of the Club are to promote friendship, provide entertainment and generate interest in topics you might not have thought about. We prepare a programme of speakers each year covering a wide range of informative, educational and/or entertaining subjects. The list of speakers for this year is shown on the Calendar page.

Our chairman is Keith Waller: “I am delighted that you are looking at our website. We are a friendly group of people who meet every month to enjoy each other’s company and listen to interesting speakers. If you are looking to join our club, please have a look around and get in touch”

Meetings

Our meetings are held in Stokesley Town Hall every month starting with tea or coffee between 9.30 and 10.00 o’clock. There is then a brief introduction by our Chairman. This is followed by our guest speaker, with talks lasting between 45 minutes and one hour. Following the talk, we have a short members meeting which provides updates on speakers, outings etc, finishing with a “fun draw!” Please see Calendar webpage for meeting dates.

Outings

We organise three or four lunches throughout the year along with Christmas lunch in December, held in various local hostelries. We also arrange trips to local theatres and excursions to interesting historic sites and other venues suggested by members.
